This Summercamp is the official international trainingcamp of the Kyokushin World Federation. Since 1968, after being instructed by Sosai Oyama for Shihan Loek Hollander to build Kyokushin in Europe, there has been a summercamp organised under his leadership. The first summercamp was held in Ermelo with Sosai Oyama in attendance. Since then almost all of the following summercamps have been held at the National Sportcentrum Papendal situated in Arnhem. It is true to say that "Papendal" has now become a tradition for Kyokushin Karateka’s. Not only in The Netherlands but also in the rest of Europe and Worldwide has the Summercamp in Papendal become known as one of the most challenging trainingcamps in the world. The Summercamp is a unique possibility to train with other Karateka's in the practice of Kyokushin. Together searching and pushing your limits both physically as well as mentally. This way of training together and pushing yourselves to the edge is the true Kyokushin Way which Sosai Oyama believed in. Attending the Summercamp is not only meant for blackbelts or those intending on doing dan grade examinations but it is also a camp for all kyu grades (coloured belts).
